Chi-town and HowDesign

Last week I had the privilege to visit the windy city of Chicago. It was a split decision to pack for an overseas trip — apart from the chance to meet a lot of old friends, colleagues, and great designers, I’ve received a hint that one of the logos I designed will be featured at Bill Gardner’s annual logo trend report at How Design Live conference.

The conference was packed for 5 days, with great speakers, lots of new connections, while the exhibit hall was full of representatives of major graphic design companies ranging from Adobe, Pantone, Shutterstock, Moo, to name some…

Rainy days in Chicago helped with my decision to stick to conference venues more than I anticipated. I guess Chicago site-seeing will come in on my next visit :)

Logo trend report was my highlight of the day, obviously :) It was nice to see my work next to Zendesk or Master Card brand identity :)

I’ve managed to see lots of old friends and colleagues, some great ideas and plans evolved there.

Later that day, Bill Gardner organized a very nice Dribbble meetup at Gino’s East. That was a perfect time for me to finally get him to sign me my first ever Logolounge book #5 (I was late for #4 :). Thanks for the nice words, Bill!

The fun fact is that I met with a ton of Serbian folks in Chicago. At one moment, it was like the conference and meetup were held in Belgrade ;)

Looking forward to revisiting the States soon… I am keeping track of the Brand New conference in September :)
